I think I must be the very last quilter to the Granny Square party! (Also, all the photos in this post are from my Dreamwidth blog.)
During the third week of mai, I showed some granny square blocks I had started. I had seen them on other quilty blogs, and Flickr, and liked how it looked. Also, I was reminded of a quilt I’d seen in Quilts Japan, but we get to that. 🙂 Here is the blog, and tute, where granny Square blocks originated. Fun, no? 🙂

This month, I have:
Completed ‘Snorkelling the Waves’. Top pieced 2010. Backing pieced, quilt quilted and bound off.
~Made quilted pillowslip to match Mod Hex quilt.
~Worked on Lone Star mini; some quilting.
~Hand pieced last 7 blocks for Japanese Makower panel
~Started drawing up applique patches for Blueberry Crumb Cake quilt.
~Started cutting squares for Granny Square blocks. Made 1 block.
Through binding off, that is. I would have liked a more orange binding, but I did not haz. Treats fund is dry, so nothing new atm. The red fits well, though, no? 🙂 Is *tough* to stitch through.
Quilting thread. No idea where it came from. Have never heard of ‘Cotty’, but it was at the bottom of my thread tin, and blended well. It quilted okay, but if I needed to unpick stitches, then the thread parted and broke up. Wonder how it will last in a quilt…?
april 21: edited to add~~ Have learned the Cotty thread came from fellow quilter H via Cotton patch. It is 30/2, for those who like to know these things, 🙂 and the variegation is called ‘daybreak’.
